Lack of interest and motivation or/and lack of knowledge of how to achieve desired goals, are some of the most important reasons for unemployment and illiteracy. A personal tutor and motivator is exactly what young people need in such situations; to help them fix things up and get back to the track. Young people require personal tutors who are ready wherever they are, whenever they need some help.

I want to revolutionise the way that refugees, asylum seekers and trafficked persons access rehabilitation by providing a national network of Rehabilitation Advocates, drawn from the refugee community. This is complimented by expert training for service providers. This places refugees at the heart of the solution to the problem and improves their integration prospects.

Can community-led childcare help parents back to work? More generally, are existing sharing schemes working to maximising benefits to the local communities that use them? Barnet Council (UK) is setting up a local innovation bank to implement big society ideas in Barnet. I often hear mention of shared childcare as an issue to be solved - but with no practical ideas attached.

Public Services by Design is a mentoring service for public service providers who want to develop and deliver more effective, efficient, and customer focussed services.
