Ending Youth Unemployment in County Durham

What ideas do you have to end youth unemployment in County Durham?

Federation of Small Businesses North East

Youth unemployment across County Durham has been too high for too long. It is damaging for young people and damaging for the economy.

We need new ideas to help tackle youth unemployment in County Durham from all parts of the community. The County Durham Economic Partnership and the Federation of Small Businesses in the North East want to hear the ideas of young people in the County, parents, grandparents, teachers, businesses, charities and everybody that has an interest in youth unemployment.

We want to hear all ideas whether big or small. Every idea gets posted on to the Challenge page we’ve created with everyone having a chance to vote on what they think are the best ones.

Next steps:

• We will close the call for ideas on the 10 November 2014 • Those that have the most votes and those picked by a panel of experts will then be taken forward to an event to be held on 9th December 2014 • The event will be an opportunity to pitch to a judging panel for funding opportunities to turn the ideas into projects and businesses.

The overall winning idea will be supported by the Cranfield Trust to develop a detailed business plan.
