How can we better harness the web to help young people get the work, education or training that is right for them?
My idea is to utilise augmented reality to gather up to date information about job opportunities, work experience or volunteering chances and place them in an augmented reality app, which can be viewed on a smartphone or tablet.
The information will appear in the app when the user opens the program in their phone or tablet and holds it up to a marker or a location. To keep the app from being cluttered with too much text, the augmented reality will only show the name the user can select the opportunity they are interested in, which will then present them with further information, such as a short description of the job, contact details and directions, all shown in the augmented reality.
How this app will benefit young people to find work and be motivated is by combining modern technology with smartphones, so they can be anywhere and still find jobs and aren’t forced to be stuck at home, on the computer, in order to find work, which can be somewhat demotivating.
