How can we better harness the web to help young people get the work, education or training that is right for them?
My idea is to create a universal platform, possibly linked to GOOGLE+, with main market audience being sixteen to twenty five years, it is flexible enough to be used by other individuals in other age brackets... Within this platform you can find many subjects related to the education and growth values of young people. The platform will have several distinct areas, most of the areas can be sponsored i.e. by companies, universities and others. Areas like forums, job seeking, internships/apprenticeships, courses, universities, a place for creative ideas that can be turned into real projects, students informative guides, tips, scholarships, competitions, prizes, free stuff and much more.
All the courses, universities and others, will go trough an evaluation by their students. For example, if a university wants to join the platform, to be accepted they have to have an evaluation from all of their students so that their ratings can help other students to choose their life in a proper way. They can see which course at which university is the best rating from their previous students and see their comments too. These evaluations will always be anonymous and done in the platform (using universities codes) and each student by doing this they enter in competitions for shopping, travel tickets, school/University trips, tickets to concerts, private parties…
The winners of each competition will be shown with their story and what they did with the prize they win. It will open up a movement to get everyone in the universities to enrol in this platform. Giving finally a voice and all the power to the young public.
Companies will be evaluated as well by the students that complete internships/ apprenticeships/ graduate jobs... To call the companies and universities for this platform, we have to give something in return such as Google ads for free for example, making this platform become alive and universal. Also the sponsors will gain an enormous advertisement made in this platform.
Everyone stands to gain, young people will seek all the information they need, and will be influenced by evaluations of other students so they can decide their future, with more peace of mind!
We have to create a worldwide marketing campaign using different medias such as internet, television, posters in Universities… in order to build the whole idea.
